A Proven Strategy
Community Health Evangelism - CHE
LifeWind's development program is known throughout the world as CHE (Community Health Evangelism) , pronounced chay. CHE empowers communities to overcome poverty, disease and hopelessness by mobilizing their God-given potential and available resources.
In a CHE program, local volunteers are equipped and empowered to:
- evangelize their community, making new followers of Jesus
- nurture disciples, strengthening the church
- improve sanitation, preventing diseases
- enhance agriculture, increasing food production
- create new enterprises, escaping dependency
- utilize appropriate technologies, fostering sustainability
The CHE strategy is used by people serving with over 250 organizations in more than 80 countries worldwide. It is a simple yet comprehensive approach, adaptable to a wide range of urban and rural cultural contexts. The essence of CHE is to make the complicated simple and the theoretical practical. People who complete CHE training say things like, "It makes sense. We can do this!"
Simply put, CHE works.
Our aim is to equip as many mission organizations, churches and non-government organizations as possible for effective wholistic ministry among the poor and unreached. The goal is to bring them together to find encouragement, shared resources and plan strategically for the greatest possible impact. This is achieved through our Global CHE Network which includes alliances, working groups meetings, conferences and councils. There are currently representatives from more than 250 organizations coming together across the globe.
Throughout our website you will find links to material on the Global CHE Network's website . GCN is a nonprofit organization and affiliate of LifeWind. We strongly encourage you to join the network.
