  Tirus & Winnie Githaka

Tirus and Winnie Githaka have both distinguished themselves as skilled facilitators. They encourage others and are champions for Community Health Evangelism (CHE). They share a personal walk with God that is inspirational.

Tirus attended the University of Nairobi, completing his Master’s Degree in Microbiology and pursuing his Ph.D. in the same.

Winnie has a Social Degree and post-graduate diploma in Project Management.

Tirus and Winnie completed the CHE Internship in the Philippines in 2004. Since that time they have done a superb job leading CHE work in the country of Kenya. They have led fund-raising banquets, and have created a top quality newsletter. Tirus and Winnie were the hosts of the Global CHE Network Founders meeting in Nairobi in February 2010.

In August 2010 Tirus rose to the challenge to lead CHE workers in East Africa as a LifeWind Regional Coordinator, providing leadership to CHE workers in eight countries.

Winnie very ably and conscientiously continues to lead the CHE teams as the Area Coordinator for Kenya, where they make their home with their children, Toria, age five, and Tugi, age four. Winnie’s capable organization and support are prominent reasons that Tirus is able to take on the responsibilities of a Regional Coordinator.
